MET01-02: Normalizing Motion of the Hips, and Pelvis
with Sacrum Using Muscle Energy Techniques
|
|
This course combines our entry-level course and the
sacrum course.
Basic concepts of Muscle Energy Technique are presented
including how to identify and treat sacroiliac joint
restrictions caused by the action of the innominates (OS
COXAE) upon the sacrum (iliosacral dysfunctions) and how
to normalize the pubic symphysis. Additionally you will
learn to release restrictions of the hip joints by
addressing the muscles that cross over that joint.
Correct sacral motion is
vital to our well being and is neglected by many
disciplines. Did you know that the sacrum moves not only
forward and backward but also at an angle (torsion)?
You learn to identify and treat restrictions of the
sacrum at the sacroiliac joints (sacroiliac
dysfunctions). Additionally, the biomechanics of the
walking cycle will be reviewed. See how the motion of
the sacrum is integrated with the motion of the
innominates (os coxae) and reciprocal action of the
lumbar vertebrae.
